Despite what you'll hear, Chris is pretty left leaning and while Colin is economically conservative, he's at least in the middle when it comes to social issues.Īs someone who's pretty conservative, I don't always agree with what they say but it doesn't bother me because they're not preachy and don't deal in absolutes. Usually they take a pretty balanced view, at least in my opinion. With the BLM protests they supported the message but condemned the rioting / looting. Recently they were discussing the sexual harrassment allegations and said most people are probably telling the truth, hear them out but don't go attacking anyone.

Actually the opposite, I recall someone writing in and asking if Naughty Dog had an SJW agenda and both Colin and Chris dismissed it saying that just because a character is a lesbian, it doesn't automaticlaly make it an SJW storyline. With actual games, I can't remember them ever critiquing a game for being too woke. He doesn't sit there and go on 20 minute rants about the problem with games media for no reason. You'll hear Colin go after the media occasionally, calling them a hive mind and saying that they couldn't wait to kick him out as the only conservative but it's usually just in passing and when it's relevant. I wouldn't describe it as anti-woke, I mean I listened to it for a good few months without realising that Chris mainly got famous as an anti-SJW and I was pretty surprised when I found out. It was only my own curiosity that kept me going. I listened to the whole thing and learned a bit about why what JK said was wrong (facts and figures, mostly), but most people would have stopped listening. I've only heard one podcast that attempted to address the JK Rowling stuff so far, a Harry Potter one, and the therapist specialising in LGBT they had one was so far up her own arse that it was annoying to listen to. I know you're never going to convince most of the Bible Belt "Christian values" Americans and anyone on a similar level, but I think there should be more of an effort to bring people up to speed on why this is important.
I'm sure there's content out there that explains it well, but if everyone is just told what they should think without any real discussion to back it up. I've never found them to be preachy.įor any podcast or content creators out there that think this is just a bigoted thread, you need to understand that this niche issue that quickly risen to become an important topic in the gaming industry, so it's understandable that this thing that is being treated as a big deal but people don't understand is being met with some scepticism. They also have side shows that I haven't listened to yet, like Bornfireside Chat, which is a Soulsborne podcast. Watch Out For Fireballs is a podcast where two guys do a deep analysis of games.
